3 CAPABILITIES FOR THE SUCCESS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Most of the times you need a conversational English or German knowledge to apply, based on the recommendations of your position. This will be the language you will use day-by-day to communicate with your colleagues and guests.

SOUNDNESS AND WILL TO WORK

During the first days of your work, your supervisor will show everything you need to do and the way to do it properly, so there is nothing you need to find out by yourself. If you follow these methods, not afraid of the work hours, you will have a nice time on board and an easy career opportunity.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Positive and friendly are the two key factors. You will work and be surrounded with people every hour, so you must be able to handle everyone easily, communicate well and bypass the attitude, cultural and other differences between you and your colleagues.

I – PROPER ORIENTATION AND REGISTRATION

The registration is the first step of your application because you can provide us all the necessary information and preference of you, such as the position you want to work in, your date to sign up and similar preferences.

After your registration, we will revise your application data, bring it to perfection to maximize your chance.

For the ocean positions, you can register generally, and based on your preference we will inform you about all the official openings and Job Fairs/Interviews where you can get hired.

Of course, the registration is free, and it doesn’t obligate you to sign up.

II – INTERVIEW AND APPLICATION

When we will find an opening match for your preferences and dates, we will inform you ASAP and provide you all the details you need to know. If you are interested in signing up, we will invite you again to check your language skills, and start the application process itself.

The exact steps of the application are based on the recommendations of the position and employer, but in general, you must calculate with an independent language test (Marlins) and a Job Fair/Skype interview where you can connect with the representative of the employer, who will hire you.

III – LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT + ADMINISTRATION

After the successful interview, you will receive your letter of employment in the matter of days, which is the official guarantee of your hire. Usually, it contains all the details you need to know, such as the name of the ship, sign up date, position, and similar official details.

With this document, you can apply for your visa at the embassy. Over the Letter of Employment, you must complete the mandatory medical examinations per the policy of your employer.

Of course, you will have all the exact information needed to complete these steps, and we will assist you in every minute. Independently of your employer, the administration takes 7-14 days in general.

DURATION OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Just as we mentioned, the time between the application and the start of the work is depending on many different features.

  • The first is the schedule of the interviews and job fairs which are usually in every 3-5 months.

  • After your successful interview, it takes few days to know your sign-up date, which can be 1-3 months later.

That means you can calculate with a 3-5-month long process from the registration to the first step on board, which is favorable to complete everything, close your current employment and ensure your funds.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

To apply you must be:

  • 18-21 years old based on the policy of your future employer

  • Speak English or other needed languages on the proper level

  • Capable of acquiring the needed permits/visa

COSTS OF THE APPLICATION

We can say you should calculate with 600-1200Eur altogether based on the recommendations of the position (PEME medical exams, STCW, Seaman's book, etc.), but luckily as we mentioned you have 2-5 months to raise it and schedule it per your opportunities.

NOTE that your application is free of charge and you don’t have to calculate with registration/administration and agency fees.
